In a perfect world...well, in a perfect world he wouldn't need a therapist in the first place, would he? Wouldn't have gone through hell as a kid and come out simultaneously feeling too young and too old. But, in a more perfect world than this one, where Tarsus still somehow happened but everything was ok after that, he'd keep seeing this specific therapist until the day he died.
She works with kids.
He's twenty three.
Jim is pretty sure he'd rather gnaw his own foot off than talk to anyone else about his brain, about his trauma, about all the ways he’s fucked up.

Summary
Fingon, a marine biologist, has his life turned upside down when he waltzes out of the poaching ship, The Angband, with a merman. Now he must help a terrifying and adorable predator of the deep recover physically and mentally enough to go home.
Maedhros, a merman, has had one tragedy after another. He saw his grandfather killed in front of him, and then was captured and experiemented on by sadistic poachers. He wants to go home. But Fingon and the human world aren't as bad as he first thought.
But the sea is still calling Maedhros home; and The Angband's net reaches farther than a mere ocean.

Maedhros, trying to keep his people alive through war and a deadly volcanic winter, has to contend with the politics of hosting a Sindarin princess as well as surviving Morgoth's onslaught. Neither of them really expect to fall in love.
And neither of them expect consequences that will shake the foundations of Middle-Earth.
