Summary
You are out of place and out of your element. You are sent to tend to your grandmother until the changing of the guards—just until your parents arrive. Until then, you endure the ancient cold, the dead air, the suffocating stillness of Germany. There's no Wi-Fi, no television and you hardly speak the language.
But the forest whispers. The floorboards creak. And it's so dark and cold. And you are so, so, so tired. And you don't know why. You're so tired you can't explain why things go missing. Why the window opens itself at night. Why you keep seeing a towering shadow through a sleep-filled haze at night. Why you sometimes feel the mattress shift beneath your body, but you can't find enough strength to wake.
And when Kortac Forces flood the town, Oma stops letting you out. She nails your window shut and writes to your parents immediately to come. Her voice trembles when they come to the door, and she tells you not to make a sound. To hide. To be still.
But it's too late.
Because he is already watching you.
And hunting you.
And you are running out of places to hide.

Summary
With your hermit-like life, it's not a surprise that when an apocalypse forcing you to interact with your kin hits, you have a hard time adjusting. The only thread tethering you to humanity is your neighbour's daughter, a lone survivor after a fire swallowed her home. You'd give life for that little girl, out of everything, she's the only one that matters. And when FEMA comes knocking, demanding ''test subjects'', you learn that sacrifice buys time. One body at a time.

Summary

Without any recollection of your past, your only option is to continue foward and take your medication as prescribed. However, whatever it was you were trying to avoid with those medications seems to be slowly resurfacing after a fateful encounter during one of your patrols in a snowstorm.
As time passes, some individuals form a bond with you. And with these new companions, you can feel fragments of your past slowly returning. However, you don't realize that you're taking a risk of creating a bond that could turn into a unhealthy obsession.
