The Doctor is supposed to regenerate, but because he put his regeneration energy through the heart of the Tardis, the Tardis used it to pull the last person who looked into the heart of the Tardis to her, only she did not mean to swap her for the Doctor.
The Doctor appears in Pete’s world and is reunited with Rogue and the Metacrisis Doctor, but this world is all wrong, or, actually, the world the Doctor had come from was all wrong, because why else would both he and Rogue remember a time that Mavity was called Gravity?

Louis made a gesture to Claudia to stand further back. She crossed her arms with a stubborn huff and stayed right where she was. With a hesitant hand and a difficult, equally stubborn readjustment of his crutches, Louis slipped his fingers into the out of place wall and pulled it backwards.
Immediately the smell of rot and grime hit his nostrils and his face tightened into a scrunch with the sensation of it. It took his eyes longer to adjust than his nose, but once they did, he realized he was crouched opposite the form of a young man, a stranger, pressed up against the wall behind himself in terror. Dead rats were scattered around him and dust was caked onto his body from the surroundings of the hidden alcove. Perhaps most disturbing was the state of his hands, which must have been removed from his body, and were now sewn on with a haphazard repair job with stitches bulging out from around the reddened, irritated skin that was battling with the body as it tried to heal itself.

“Of course I miss home.” Benji answers simply, like a child would. His accent is thick and unassimilated. Nothing like Armand’s—which is now perfectly posh. “But I don’t prefer any mosque over the other. They’re all for the same thing, aren’t they?”
Armand doesn’t agree. He can’t remember the mosques of India in all of their particulars, but he remembers liking them more than these. Maybe because they meant home. Maybe because God meant something else before the slavers caught him.

It’s a lie. The two children in his arms are vampires, after all.
“Baba,” Benji whimpers. Sybelle says nothing at all.
“I’m here.” He cards through Benji’s curls, tucking his chin over the boy’s head. “I’m here. Whatever happens, I’m here.”
The carriage rattles. He’s fairly sure they’re in some kind of shipping container, if the corrugated walls are anything to go by. Perhaps on the back of a truck, or loaded onto a train.
It does not sway like a ship. This, at least, is a comfort.
