Buck had no idea why he was called into the police station. He hadn't done anything, and he'd been doing pretty good keeping his jealousy about everyone getting to know and hang out with Tommy Kinard to himself, he was pretty sure, anyway. But called in to talk about something, having to do a DNA test, and then getting put in a conference room with a little girl that was obviously bored? He had no idea what was going on and just wished someone would tell him something.
Whatever.
He could just make friends with a six year old.

Summary
Buck decides to pick up Taylor's book while he's out getting a new one for the book club he joined. It was a thing and it was most likely about his firehouse so he might as well, right? Except ... it's about so much more. Feeling a little ... spiteful? Maybe? Anyway, he opens his Instagram and posts a series of him reviewing her book for the masses.
Maddie thinks it's hilarious.

Summary
Buck was just doing his best to focus on his work and not think about the shitty dinner with his parents, Maddie, Chim, and Albert. He was doing good at distracting his mind ... until he parents walked into the station. Forcing him into a conversation he didn't want to have. And he is just so ... so very done with them. He wasn't a little kid anymore.
It's really their own fault for saying so many horrible things about and to him around his chosen family.

“You’re gonna be fine.” She said firmly. “You will, Bobby will be there soon and will get you out, Buck.”
“Always liked how optimistic you were.” Buck chuckled. “A lot like me. Hard to keep that optimism and hope for yourself, but able to share it with anyone and everyone around you. Because it’s more important that they stay happy and content then-”
“Stop.” May’s voice cracked. “Stop, please. You’re- you’re like my big brother, ok? And you’re getting out of this. You are.”
“Ok, May.” Buck sighed. “Can I ask a favor?”
“Yeah.” She agreed easily.
“Can- can you get Eddie? Just- there’s some things that need said. Just in case, ya know?”
