He was fast, but he hadn’t been fast enough; he watched with horror as Williams took a swing at Andrew’s head. Since Andrew had lost his balance, he wasn’t where Williams had expected him to be. How horrible that Neil almost felt relieved about Andrew stumbling after Winter’s swing, but Neil knew that probably had saved his life. William’s racquet glanced off Andrew’s helmet and hit his shoulder hard enough to drive him to his knees. Neil couldn’t hear from where he was, but he could only imagine the sickening sound of the blow. He needed to get to Andrew.
