Summary
After Aerion Targaryen is defeated during the Trial of Seven, his father devises a harsher punishment than simply sending him off to Lys. He rules that his wayward son, the only omega of House Targaryen, will be given in marriage to Ser Duncan the Tall, newly enobled and enriched by the king.
Forced into wedlock with the man who bested him, Aerion has to battle with his own guilt and rage, as well as the budding emotions building up between him and his foe.

Summary
During their travels as hedge knight and squire, Dunk and Egg go to Lys, expecting they might run into a certain temperamental Targaryen Prince sent there five years ago, (following the trial of seven that nearly killed Prince Baelor, the only other living Targaryen omega—as far as Aerion knows, at least).
What Dunk does not expect, is to find Aerion in heat and being taken advantage of in a dark alley by the very guards sworn to protect him.
Afterwards, Aerion is suffering through a suppressant overdose, not having been off them in five years in the effort to hide his omega status, and the aftermath of being raped. He must return home to his pack in Dragonstone lest he die from the sickness, (though he doesn't feel he'll be welcomed back).
Come hell or high water, Dunk vows to be there every step of the way through Aerion's recovery, no matter how much the prince tries to push him away.
(Bonus: Dunk and Aerion are scent mates—a rare bond indicating high biological compatibility.)

Summary
In the aftermath of Baelor's death, the Targaryen family splinters. All Maekar wants is to hold the remnants of his family close, but even he knows that Aerion cannot stay here, not with Baelor's ghost still wandering the halls.
Dunk has had enough of princes for a lifetime, but Baelor's memory will not let him turn away from the wreckage before him. When Maekar begs him to take Aegon on as his squire, he accepts, and when Maekar begs him to look after Aerion, Dunk cannot turn him away. He is determined to fulfill his duty as Baelor's man, and to do it well, Aerion be damned.
Aerion's life crumbles down around his shoulders in the span of a single afternoon. The Maesters say his leg may never fully heal, his own father cannot look him in the eye, and his family wishes he had died in his uncle's stead. When he finds himself exiled to Lys with only the brother who hates him and the knight who maimed him for company, he is certain he's being sent off to die.
Fortunately, the gods have other plans.

Summary
"I know you have been so alone. So very lonely." His thumb brushed the corner of Duncan's mouth, wiping away a smear of blood Duncan had not known was there.
"Let me help," he whispered. "I can be good. I can be so, so good for you."
Duncan opened his mouth.

Summary
Aerion “Brightflame” Targaryen is a man sure of himself. He is never unmoored, never questioning.
Unfortunately, the hedge knight who bested him being thrust into his daily life threatens these certainties.
He hates it, he hates him, but he’s learning quickly that he holds far less control than he once believed.
After an attack leaves Aerion indefinitely unable to speak, it seems the only one capable of understanding him is the very person he wishes to be known by the least.
