Summary
“What are you doing here?” Buck asked in confusion. He was at Eddie’s house for a reason. To hide from his sister’s incessant schedule of visitors.
“That is not how you invite someone in, Evan.” His mother chastised as Buck hadn’t moved to let them inside yet.
“I’m aware.” Buck frowned. “But this is Eddie’s house.”
“What’s going on?” Eddie asked, joining him at the door and looking as confused as Buck at finding Maddie and the Buckley parents on his doorstep. “I wasn’t on the schedule you set up for a reason.”
“I know.” Maddie said calmly. “But Evan is avoiding talking to me for some reason.”
“He needs time and space to rest.” Eddie frowned. “None of which he was getting with the hourly visits you set up.”
“He knows why I did that.” Maddie argued.
“And he’s also never told you no for anything you wanted to do.” Eddie countered, arching an eyebrow at her. “Fine. You all want to bombard him, at my house? There are gonna be some rules."

Summary
Eddie runs by, travel mug of fresh coffee in hand, “Okay, see ya at the station, love you”, and kisses Buck.
Yeah, that happened.
Why the fuck did that happen??
Did they just have their first kiss in the middle of a half-rushed morning routine?
Buck goes through the motions of the rest of his routine, before starting his drive to the station, in a daze. He pays attention to the road, of course he does, he’s a firefighter, he knows the risks of distracted driving, but also WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED THIS MORNING.
***
Or: Eddie accidentally kisses Buck before ever confessing.

Summary
“Well, tattoos can look like almost anything.” Buck lifts his other arm to show Christopher the null sign on his inner elbow. “Your dad’s is script– uh, words, like this one–” he twists to display the quote on the outside of his forearm. “But I have some that are just shapes.”
Chris nods at this thoughtfully. “Can you color them?”
Buck grins. “You can get them in color, yeah. But all of mine are black.”
Chris glances at his markers, then back at Buck’s arm. “Can I color them?”
And, well. They’re just Crayolas.

Eddie shakes his head. “No, he is not-“
“Oh.” Chris’s shoulders drop and he flops down on the couch. “I just figured he would be here too.”
