The problem with being one of only two V models ever constructed was that meant that spare parts are exceedingly hard to come by. Anything scrounged up from other machines were more than likely completely incompatible with its specialized design structure.
That meant when something breaks- there was a decent chance it could not be properly fixed…

OR V1 finally admits okay, something is WRONG and has Gabriel take them to the one machine that might be able to help. Tf you mean you don’t do proper maintenance you idiot??

There was a reason V1 very rarely slept, but the bleary eyed angel that would so often lay heavy across their plating made it somewhat tempting.

“Machine, I’d like to try something.” V1 sits up and swivels its head to look at Gabriel, his hand slides down to its waist. “It’ll require you to uh, close your eye? Turn it off? Whatever it is you need to do in order not to see.”
He sounds almost shy asking the question and it takes V1 a second too long to process why that might be. Because bringing up its sight could only really mean-
