Summary
Alia Silmane and Maëlys Thielle are no one important - apprentice mages in the court of Emperor Uriel Septim VII, struggling to find their place. Between Jagar Tharn's antagonism, Alia's nonconformity, and Maëlys' youth, it's an uphill battle just to be recognized as equals among a cadre of nobility unaccustomed to change. After the Emperor's 43rd birthday, it seems like things are finally, finally beginning to look up for the two of them.
Then Alia's sister Ria is murdered, and she and Maëlys are thrown into prison on charges of treason.
In the chaos that follows Tharn's secretive usurpation of the Ruby Throne, there is only one certainty: that Alia and Maëlys are the only two people capable of unraveling his conspiracy and restoring Uriel VII to his rightful place. The fate of the Empire hangs in the balance...if they can survive both Tharn and their own trauma long enough to right it.

Summary
A chronicle of the relationship between Alia Silmane, Maëlys Thielle, and Uriel Septim VII - the greatest love of their generation. Covers the events taking place during the Simulacrum, and the immediate aftermath and rebuilding, as well as potential other snippets of their lives before and after.
Two main longfics:
fly high across the sky from here to kingdom come: ending the Simulacrum is no small task, and Alia and Maëlys have far worse things to contend with than Tharn - like their own selves. If they can't find their way forward together despite the wounds left behind by their imprisonment, the Empire will never recover.
i just want you to know who i am: in the aftermath of Tharn's coup and his own traumatic imprisonment, the Empire isn't the only thing Uriel has to rebuild, and he can't even begin to do it alone. Luckily, he doesn't have to.

Grace lets out a small—albeit a little sad—chuckle. “I’m pretty sure I don’t have one.”
“What?!” Rock screeches.
Grace flinches back a bit from the noise. At least Rocky has the gall to look a little sympathetic after his outburst.
“Apology apology apology, just confused.”
Grace nods in agreement. “I’m not too sure about it either, buddy, but people used to look down on me for it– no, not down,” he thinks, trying his best to pull at any other memories soulmate related of his that are willing to come to the surface of his mind, “They looked at me with pity,” He trails off.
“No no no. Not right. Grace have soulmate, surely.”
Grace laughs and shakes his head. “At this point, I hope I don’t have one. Imagine having the other half of you shot up into space before you could even meet them. I wouldn’t want to do that to them.”
“But Grace go home now, Grace find mate!”
