Dieter opens the Vault after the bombing and Vanderohe has to act fast if he wants to save him.

Vanderohe blinks as a flash light catches him in the eyes, taking away what little sight he had, making him tense up further as he tries to squint past the spots marring his vision. “I saved you again Mr. Vanderohe” Comes a familiar sing-songy voice that has the tension draining from him, has him blinking harder to get rid of the spots.
“You’re a fucking idiot.” Vanderohe hisses as his vision clears enough to find Dieter in the low light, moving forward and catching Dieter by the shoulders dragging him close.

Summary
Death is ancient. Though humans are new to his task of collecting souls, Thanatos has been presence since the dawn of living creatures to provide a path for their ultimate destruction so creation could begin again. He is still young in the grand scheme of the cosmos and has much to learn about his added burden.
Death Incarnate learns that the Olympian Gods require much more care and attention than he is used to giving the surface world. First Ares makes an unusual request that went against eons of tradition. Then Thanatos has to figure out how to incorporate the strange little god, Hermes, into those connected to the transfer of souls to the Underworld.
Now he feels intertwined with the fates of so many immortals. It made his existence complicated, but Thanatos cannot regret a moment of his new relationships.
_Chapter 12&13: The Trojan War
In two parts: The Beginning as seen by Ares, The End as seen by Thanatos**considered done because Hades II took my ideas and exploded them to better extremes. May continue once Hades II is complete.**
