Summary
Halfway through a bite of chicken, Reigen sees the lights flicker. He pauses, brows furrowing lightly, but a glance in Ekubo's direction dispels the worry. If something were going on, he's sure the spirit would let him know. He's not petty enough to put a sleeping Mob in danger, after all—
Reigen freezes. A few of the espers stiffen as well, lifting their heads up in confusion. After a moment, Hoshino coughs.
"Uh," he says. "Is it just me or is the building shaking…?"
or, Mob has nightmares after the house fire incident, and Reigen is there in more ways than one.

Summary
Whumptober 2023 Day 13: Cold Compress/Infection/I don't feel so good
He can’t quite remember why it hurts so much. It’s that why he’s shaking? He didn’t think people shook unless they were cold. Or maybe it is when they are hot. He tries to remember which one it is and his head flares, burning, and he drops his pencil. A soft sound leaves his lips and the world feels like it’s wrapped in bubble wrap. What was he working on again?
Mob looks back to the paper. Numbers stare back. That’s right. Math. He’s working on math. A problem mixed with letters and numbers stretches on the page and he goes to write it down again, to start solving it in a way that escapes him right now, and his finger crunches against the paper instead. Pain shoots down his wrist and he furrows his eyebrows, drawing his pointer across the paper. Lines don’t appear, and numbers don’t write.
Oh. He dropped his pencil. He’d forgotten about that.
Or
Math is confusing, but Mob doesn't think that's what's causing his head to ache so much. Not only that, he can't remember why his wrist hurts or why he feels hot. Maybe Reigen can help him out.

Whumptober 2023 Day 19: Floral Bouquet/Psychology/I'm not as stupid as you think I am
“Why, Master,” he whispered to Reigen once, petals in his hair, when he visited, desperate for company beyond that of his grieving parents. “Why do people give flowers?”
His master had looked at him from across the table, a bento in front of him and another pushed towards Mob, his chin in his hands and eyes grieved. Scruff dotted his face, and his tie was undone. “To show compassion, I guess.”
Mob stared at his own bento then, numb to the world. The flowers in his hands he wished would wilt and be with his brother. Compassion was beautiful. Flowers were beautiful. Death was not. Flowers may have matched the emotion, but not the situation.
Or maybe it was just another one of those things he didn’t understand.
Or
Guilt and blame haunts him, and Mob has no idea how to deal with the looming thought that all of this, all the grief and pain and flowers that taint his house, is all his fault. He should have done more.

Summary
Whumptober 2023 Day 26: Seeing Double/Working to Exhaustion/You look awful
He's just...Mob. He's Mob and he feels, but his face does not and he's alright with that.
It's different when Reigen says it. Reiegn is his Master, his mentor, the supposed greatest physic of the 21st century though Mob knows that to be a facade, has for years, and the man knows him in and out. He tells him he's fine as he is, he's fine to act the way he does and listen the way he does and speak the way he does, and there is never any scorn from the man when it comes to his peculiar personality. If Reiegn has picked up on his newfound habit, charged with fear and a desire to protect, then Mob must truly look awful.
Or
Mob believes a lack of sleep will protect the world from his powers. He didn't count on Reigen catching him in the act.
