Smaug is defeated without the recruitment of a burglar, and several delegations, including one from the Shire, are invited to Thorin's public, official coronation. Bilbo, scribe and bachelor, travels to Erebor with fourteen other Hobbits, embarking on an adventure that will change not only his destiny, but those of many in Middle-earth.
Or, the attempted Hobbit / Pride and Prejudice mashup that nobody asked for. Not to worry, knowledge of the plot of Pride and Prejudice is not necessary to understand this story.

Will figures out who and what Hannibal really is. In response Hannibal steals Will away, and sets to a long-term plan of bringing Will round to his way of thinking.
Will unsurprisingly is resistant to the idea of joining in with Hannibal's idea of the perfect meal, but Hannibal is a master of manipulation, and with no-one coming to the rescue, he has plenty of time to change Will's mind.No season 2 spoilers, but some mild spoilers for season 1.

Summary
In a universe where Smaug was shot down before he could ever reach Erebor, Thain Isengrim Took receives a request from King Thrain to help them regrow the lands around the Mountain that were devastated by dragonfire. With his own agenda in mind, Isengrim agrees to travel to Erebor and brings a group of young hobbits with him--among them Bilbo Baggins.
Thorin didn't think he'd ever want to find love or marriage - all he wanted was protect his family, fight gloriously, and be a better king than his grandfather had been. However, that all changes when the Shire ambassadors blow into Erebor, bringing with them a hobbit who, within days of knowing each other, infuriates and intrigues Thorin more than anyone else he's ever known.
