For months he had yearned for this, spent nights silently begging the universe for this, and now the first move had been made, the line had been crossed, and he was about to have it – about to have you. Now he just hopes he doesn’t fuck it up. He wants to make you feel good, wants to prove to you that he can be good enough, and worries that if he doesn’t then you’ll regret this and never want to even look at him again. ‘Can’t you just shut the fuck up for once?’ he berates himself mentally as his thoughts drift further away from the present moment and dig deeper into his insecurities. ‘Get out of your head, be a man, and focus on fucking her. Don’t fucking blow this.’
But things don't go as he had hoped, and he ends up being more vulnerable with you than he has with anyone else.

When the New Avengers are sent out on a seemingly straight forward mission in a night club, Yelena had assumed her biggest concern would be keeping an eye on Bob during his first time out in the field. And perhaps how many mocktails she would let herself enjoy. Or why she was having so many, new, confusing feelings for Bob, not just professionally, but also during all those late nights she spent listening to Bob's steady voice as he read to her.
