Summary
I’m a huge fan of The Walking Dead. To be honest, I was getting a bit tired of reading about extremely strong, "perfect" female characters, so I decided to imagine a common person dropped into the TWD universe.
This work is deeply psychological; I wanted to explore a different perspective and create a long, meaningful character arc. It’s going to be a very long ride, so... buckle up!
The events follow those of the TV series, and I’ve tried to keep it as "canon" as possible (though there will be major changes later on). Everything is told from this new viewpoint. I hope you like it! English is not my native language, so I apologize if you run into any errors or strange sentence structures, I primarily think in Italian and then translate it.

Backing away I go outside hoping I still had some time to make my getaway.
When I reach the frown lawn a loud revving from a motorcycle comes from the distance as it rounds the driveway, RV and station wagon in tow. “You’ve got to be kidding me” I say.
Watching as everyone made their way outside to see the commotion. As the cars get closer I recognize a face of one amongst them.
They halt to a stop in front of us as I yell “I know that ain't Daryl Dixon”

IT FOLLOWS THE TV SHOW SCRIPT EXTREMELY CLOSE.
I AM NOT TAKING CREDIT FOR ANY DIALOGUE OR CHARACTERS CREATED BY THE WALKING DEAD CREATORS.Things in the reservoir camp had stayed relatively quiet. Apart from some of the arguments that'll break out but you can only expect that when strangers take shelter together. Y/n was a survivor of the city, brought in by Glenn. You were thankful for the kindness from the stranger but the same behavior was not shared from the rest of the group. Supplies are tight and tension gets high every time a newcomer is brought in. The Dixon brothers don't miss a beat to make sure and cause a scene, going on and on about supplies and how thin we are stretched. The speeches have droned on but no one listens to them, especially when it come from a 'couple hillbillies'. Days went by the same, hardly any words spoken your direction unless it was snarky comment or small talk from Glenn.
Things started changing drastically when a fellow named Rick Grimes showed up.
