He’s in their bed, in their cottage, in the south downs. He knows he is, but his brain can only provide one possible answer to where he is right now. He’s in heaven. Not actual heaven, mind you, no no. More like the human concept of heaven. Less stark blinding walls and liminal spaces… more feeling, emotions, happiness. It feels like coming home, like he’s finally right where he needs to be after all this time.
