“I think you know better than to say such brash things in my presence.” Vendetta threatens, baring her teeth, and Freja just smirks in reply. Vendetta’s disposition is so carnally volatile that making such remarks is akin to playing with fire. But oh, how Freja loved the burn. Vendetta uses a strong hand to roughly grab Freja’s chin, and she lets out a muffled grunt in reply. “If you continue to test me,” Vendetta snarls, “I’ll make sure this never happens again.”
Freja laughs at her, an airy laugh. “You’d never let that happen. You like me too much, don’t you, Marzia?” She whispers, curling a hand around Vendetta’s neck, pushing her closer into their embrace. She can feel the woman’s nails digging into her cheek, and it hurts, and shamefully, a part of her likes it.

I am quite the fan of Tim Burton and The Corpse Bride but I couldn’t help but wonder how the story of Emily worked if, instead of Victor, Victoria Everglot played the role of the spouse.
So, I decided to write the sapphic version I would like to see on screen: it will never happen but a girl can dream, right?
I’ve divided the story into two parts that made sense in my head.

Uncertain what to do and afraid of damaging the first real friendship she's ever had with a girl her own age, Brigitte hides her heart away and settles for secret, heated dreams.
Sometimes it takes an unbiased third friend to point out that if both halves of a pair are suffering from unrequited love, that means it's not unrequited... it's just love.
