Summary
The shriek wasn’t at all right. Harsh and piercing and pained and grim as it rang its sorrows deep in Merlin’s ears. A dead man’s last sound. A song wishing to never be heard. Anguish clear in the woe tearing straight through his soul to torment his heart. Breaths frail and fragile all that was left as it sung its broken melody deep into him bones.
But none of that was precisely the reason it was so wrong. Bad as all of it was, that wasn’t the reason his blood swam through him cold as ice and his eyes stung with salty water.
No, the sound itself wasn’t the entire issue, the fact that it was clearly recognizable held a huge portion of the blame.
i.e You guys know the broad strokes of the little mermaid? Well here we go!

Summary
Silver glinted in golden rays. Arcs moulding wind to splinter and awakening buzzing brighter than a bee could ever hope to achieve. Sharpness attacking the very air itself to create a breeze forged by man. Leaves wafting in the wake of each new movement and shifting slightly the branches overhead with the strength behind each blow. All to come to a halt as the connection sparked vibrations anew that surged into his forearm and up through his chest.
Sir Gwaine was fighting and, for the first time, Sir Gwaine was losing.
i.e Gwaine and Merlin playing with swords (and knives)

Summary
Just as quickly as it entered the suspicious look on his face was fleeing away and his features were smoothing out into an all-knowing look Gwaine had gotten very accustomed to seeing over the years except now it was too flat, too trusting, too young. "Oh, I see what this is." Gwaine was glad someone did because he had no clue what was going on. "Will put you up to this didn't he"
i.e Merlin getting de aged to his teenage years before he came to Camelot.

Summary
It might have been the dress. Plain and light so it was all the easier to trek through the brush and the lush grass dotted with beautiful streaks of yellows and blues the wildflowers that spring offered, provided. Not the most royal colour either. Stained in streaks of dirt and damp from where Merlin had splashed her in their rudimentary attempt to take a drink. Simple and casual enough for their ill-fated herb hunting trip, which was really more of an excuse to romp around in the lovely tepid temperatures of the darling afternoon sun.
Or maybe it was the lacking jewels, her neck bare and her coronet purposefully forgotten up in her chambers as to not drip with sweat and mud. Or maybe it was the wind that had swept her barely tamed curls up at all angles and set about frizz in a halo around her head.
Or maybe, she thought as a large hand on her shoulder forced her knees to hit the ground, these were just simply idiot.
i.e Gwen and Merlin playing with their food!

Summary
It was the perfect excuse as it pelted loudly against windows with winds dangerous vibrating walls. A reason to curl up by a nice fire and have a lovely drink or two. Loving the rain, not at all in his wandering days, but now that he found himself with responsibilities it was nothing but the best when the days were washed away in drips and drops.
But no, not this time. This time he was near excited by the responsibility waiting for him. Uncurling deep in his chest like a bird flapping away wetness on their wings.
i.e Merlin enjoying the rain and Gwaine trying to see why.

Summary
Gwaine stumbles out of a losing battle bleeding and half-dead, only to collapse in a strange forest where nothing behaves as it should. There he meets Merlin—an otherworldly, feral forest spirit who heals him without hesitation and immediately declares him in debt.
The price, it turns out, is not gold, but impossible errands, stolen treasures, and “shiny things” no human is meant to find. Each return drags Gwaine deeper into Merlin’s shifting grove, where time bends, the forest listens, and the creature who calls him stupid man begins to call him something far more dangerous; “mine”
