Summary
Emmeline Rachelle Annetta is quite content with living under her older sister's shadow. Less attention on herself and she can do whatever she wants. She doesn't need her parent's validation, not when she has her friends and sister. It all get's thrown into chaos when she is told her sister had abandoned the family and she now has her mother's withering attention focused on her now.
Dealing with the new status quo, she now needs to figure out how best to live her life and find out why her sister has suddenly left them.

At the sound of his voice, Gangle’s ribbons jerked themselves free of Ragatha’s hair, bundles of crimson yarn settling neatly back onto the doll’s shoulders.
“Playing with Ragatha’s hair,” Pomni returned simply, grabbing a plastic brush sitting on the couch cushion by her hip and sidling over to take Gangle’s place.
“I can see that,” Jax returned impatiently, even as his eyes couldn’t help but to be drawn to the repetitive motion of the brush as it passed through Ragatha’s woolen ringlets, watching dispassionately as the tight crimson coils unspooled beneath the weight of the bristles only to sproing back into place after Pomni pulled the brush away to begin the whole process anew. “Why are you doing it?”

This has to be the worst time for Caine to test out his new bonding adventure- ‘You’ll be paired off into groups of two where you’ll spend as much time as it takes for you and your partner to get along! I’ll be monitoring everything through a surveillance camera just to make sure. It doesn’t matter if it takes all night! Oh, and did I mention that I’m adding in a loaded gun as well?’

When Ragatha was human- When her body wasn’t plush and stuffing and she could actually enjoy the sensation that is taste- Her favorite flavor was lemon. It’s not one that she remembers too many people agreeing with, but there’s always something that she liked about the bittersweet taste of lemon candy. One moment it’s sweet, the next it’s bitter. There was no way of knowing which way it’d go. She liked the surprise of it.
Jax, in a lot of ways, was like lemon candy.
