Summary
Now that he has his own body, John, Arthur and Charlie (Detective Noel) are in a loving relationship, and they seek to further complicate things by adding known serial killer Dennis Collins to the mix. Arthur proposes one night of debauchery rigged in John's favor to help him get acclimated. John will do anything for Arthur...including fucking the Butcher in his stead. And if Collins goes rogue? Well, Charlie's right there to keep him in check.

Summary
Arthur? His voice is soft. Are you okay?
No. No, he isn’t.
“Yes. Just–just give me a minute.” His voice sounds rougher than he’d like to admit. He thunks the back of his head against the door and opens his eyes. “It’s been a long day.”
John softly rumbles in agreement before finding Arthur’s hand. With the pad of his thumb, he massages the base of his knuckles with small, circular motions. They stay like that for a few seconds, appreciating each other’s silence and the continued rise and fall of Arthur’s chest.
After escaping the mines in Addison, John and Arthur find refuge in a quiet hotel, where Arthur takes a much-needed bath. John helps him with it.

Chief Engineer Vren, a member of the large and highly territorial species the Drelnians, has not been to his homeworld in years, and he hasn't taken part in a hunt in longer. When he discovers that a ship the Bacchus is working with is planning to host a hunt, and a Drelnian woman asks if he thinks he can catch her, he finds that he can no longer resist his desire to take part in the primal and animal ritual.

“Got a smoke, handsome?” Joker asks, and finally he sidles up to the solitary figure standing under the awning.
There is a pause, a still moment where Matches’ eyes rove over him, taking in his makeup and wig, the glittery dress that clings to him, before recognition dawns and his gaze hardens, darkening to something else entirely.
“Pretty girl like you? I’ve got anythin’ ya want,” he says, but his eyes offer up a litany of questions. Anything, he says, but the angry set of his eyes screams what are you doing here, Joker? and what do you want? and are you going to make me hurt you?

After their plan is discussed and the Butcher agrees to be of assistance, Arthur leaves the police station while Noel goes through the logistics of arranging his release. He books a hotel to sort himself out in the remaining hours, and in case he survives the night. It isn't long before there's an unexpected knock.

Arthur feels as if he's living in a dream. Not the unreality of the Dreamlands, or the twisted guilt-remorse soup cooked up by Scratch, but the nice sort of dream he never gets to have.
The meeting of The Order of the Fallen Star is a month away, and in the meantime he's bunking with Detective Noel and having regular dinner dates with his former hunter, the Butcher, to receive intel on Larson.
It was bound to be only be a matter of time before their brewing chemistry finally reaches a boiling point.

Collins made a noise, considering, then the world was rushing past Arthur’s ears. The chair didn’t break when Collins pushed him back, just landed on the floor with a dull thud, knocking the air out of Arthur’s lungs.
“What can you play for me now, lad that I can’t already hear?
Arthur! Arthur are you alright? Your head, Arthur, say something!
“John?”
“Ain’t here, sunshine,” Collins replied, “though I am intrigued by this John fella you keep mentioning. Bet he’s a right piece of work if he’ll look past all your flaws now, ain’t he lad? Though maybe you can play like an angel. Wonder if you can do anythin’ else with those pianist’s fingers”

Summary
In the wake of the Eldritch Kama Sutra and the trouble it leaves behind, Arthur investigates the book without John—and discovers it’s far closer to its human namesake than either of them realized. Now, they must navigate the new intimacy this opens up while confronting their own insecurities, doubts, and unspoken truths.
(In other words: Arthur learns how to bottom from a book but is terrible at communication/knowing his own limits, and it snowballs from there. Lots of smut, but there's some plot. Bantering, bickering, and arguing aplenty. Suprisingly historically accurate)
