"You ordered the wrong size." Shane lifts the black collar out of its nest of packing paper and holds it in view.
"Hmm?" Ilya leans over his shoulder, a mess of curls in Shane's periphery. "No. Is the right size."
"This is way too big." Shane stretches the leather out; it is wide and thick, with a sturdy metal clasp and multiple rings that he can't guess the use for. Anya is his first pet, but he's pretty sure only one needed to clip a leash to? He fingers one of the rings with a frown.
Ilya laughs. He's always able to tell what Shane is thinking. "It's not for Anya."

Summary
Shane and Ilya are teachers at a middle school. All night, Shane has been watching all the mothers flirt with Ilya at the parent-teacher night. He wasn't jealous or concerned, but annoyed on Ilya's part. Shane was often spared this as an out, gay teacher and few queer parents to be found until today. He meets the father of a newer student who is gay as well, and sets his sights on Shane. Ilya is far from pleased with that, and makes sure the other man knows how much.
