Summary
Midoriya Izuku was born with a quirk. But alas, men are not created equal, as he so well knows. Abandoned by his parents to the system after his quirk presented, Izuku has pushed forward despite everything.
Of course, then the number one hero tells him he can’t be a hero with a quirk like his, he’s devastated. But just as he always has and always will, he tries. And fails.
Getting into Gen Ed at UA, while nothing to sneeze at, isn’t his end goal, and he will fight tooth and nail for what he knows he can achieve. If he meets a cute guy along the way? Great! And if his loud blond teacher takes him under his wing? Awesome! If he meets a shocking friend who’s chaotic and fun to be around? All the better!
Join Izuku as he makes his way to his ultimate goal, and finds love of all kinds along the way.

"There's no need to negotiate for your safety, Doctor Grace," Stratt says carefully. "I can assure you, after saving the world, you will be looked after."
"Um, no," he says, shaking his head. "I'm not negotiating for my safety." He steps aside. “I’m negotiating for theirs.”
They step into the light of the open doorway; Simon squinting hard against the vivid sun with his hand raised to shield his eyes, and Rocky, who chirps a casual "Hello, humans!" with a wave.
There’s a gasp; someone takes a step backward; one of the military personnel raises their rifle slightly before Stratt makes a sharp gesture for them to stand down.
Grace doesn’t have eyes for them - he only looks at Stratt.
And he decides, then and there, to replace the image of Stratt’s face sending him to his death, full of remorse and sadness, with the one in front of him: utter, complete disbelief.

Stratt turned around and with a wave of her hand another man had walked over, “You’ll be remaining here with Dr. Grace. I trust you can keep him out of trouble.”
“Shouldn’t be a problem.” The other man’s voice was smooth, and if Grace was hearing correctly it almost sounded like there was an undercurrent of mirth.
That’s when it clicked, was Stratt siccing a babysitter on him? “Hold on! What trouble are you thinking I'm going to get into?” Should he be offended? He was a grown man, he’d worked in countless labs before and sure he’d had some questionable outcomes but they’d just let him be the first scientist to study an alien life form! They should have more trust in him than this!
”Everyone in the world wants to get their hands on astrophage. Simon is here to protect you from them.” Stratt explained, turning again to give Grace an exasperated expression. “I should hope you don’t need constant supervision from yourself Dr. Grace.”
