A faulty assumption was often associated with the butterfly effect. That a mere change in the placement of a cup could be enough to bring an empire to its knees. But that rarely held true. She didn‘t understand why He kept her around if she was so irrelevant to Him, and it had been her form of proof that she must not be, but who was she kidding?
For once, Lily didn‘t feel herself become warm with anger. A laugh bubbled out of her that eventually transformed into a scream, animalistic and gutteral, her throat feeling raw by the time she was done. She had let Him trick her.
How embarrassing.
