“Dude, it’s just trash talk,” Newt says before Hermann can back out of their hangout. “It’s kinda part of the fun. Like, it’d be weird if we were just sitting here in silence, right? It’s fine, man, I can take as good as I give.” He realizes how suggestive the comment sounds as soon as it’s out of his mouth.
“Ah, well, you should have said that from the start,” Hermann states dryly. “So, in other words, I can berate you as much as I want within the context of ‘trash talk’?”

The trouble this time is that to go with Newt’s cheap new apartment, he bought a lot of cheap new Ikea furniture. And the only person he could ask to help build it was Hermann fucking Gottlieb.
