“I wanted to take your offer!” Aziraphale exclaimed, stepping forwards. “Of course I did. But it was the wrong time, everything was wrong, and I had just given you a— a suicide pill, Crowley, and I couldn’t be the reason you stopped existing.” He blinked back the sudden flood of tears. “Please believe me. It was never my intention for my words to hurt you.”
There was a beat of stunned silence.
Then Crowley spoke. “I believe you, angel,” he said, his voice unexpectedly soft.OR: two times after 1967 that they finally went at the right speed. Chapter 1 (1977) is full of angst and yearning and UST, Chapter 2 (2027) is just self-indulgent spicy fluff.
