    Stratt sighed again, looking down on the desk for a second before forcing herself to meet his eyes. "No."

    He couldn't have heard that right. It was only one word, but he had to have heard it wrong.

    "He knew what the mission meant. It would save the entire human species. Dr. Grace was well aware of how important this is. But he was… hesitant to agree."
