Summary
Derek's voice is low, soothing. The warm water and the smell of violets slowly tease the tension out of Stiles' muscles. His eyelids flutter for one blissful moment before he remembers. He jerks up, water sloshing over the edge of the tub, and says, "Don't let me fall asleep, Derek, please."
"Okay," Derek says, his eyes wide. "Just - it's okay, I'll keep you awake, I promise."
Stiles gets settled, leaning back again. He chews his bottom lip, just enough to hurt, to keep him awake and anchored to this moment in time.
He knows, more than anything, that Derek can handle any threat that comes for them. He has nothing but faith and trust in Derek and the strength of their pack. But that's not to say that he has faith in himself. Sure, he has magic. But his magic comes from his bond with Derek.
Without Derek, Stiles is nothing.
Derek will survive this new threat to Beacon Hills, Stiles is certain. But he doesn't know if he can do this again.
