“I was fishing,” he began.
“Fishing where?” Percy interrupted.
Poseidon let his breath out in a rush, dropping his eyes to his youngest son’s face with a rather sardonic expression. He had turned over in the blankets to watch Poseidon while he spoke and stared up at him now, innocent and ignorant, waiting for him to answer his question.
“On the beach,” Poseidon answered, eyes narrowed.
“On Montauk?” Percy asked.
“Do you want me to tell the story or do you just want to ask?” Poseidon questioned.
Percy grinned like the menace he was, burrowing deeper in the blankets and pulling a length over his mouth - as if that would help keep him quiet. But he waited patiently for Poseidon to continue, quiet as a mouse.
Or: Poseidon learns he has another son and does everything he can to provide him with a soft landing, but the dark history of their family looms in the background, waiting to strike.

Summary
All of reality, as they knew it, had changed: Desmond was revived by an errant toss of an Apple, Ezio Auditore da Firenze himself had come back to life, and William Miles had made an effort to support his son. Shocking. But despite all of these grandiose changes, Desmond still had to climb back into the Animus.
Abstergo is desperately searching through the memories of Edward Kenway for a Piece of Eden and the Assassins are determined to find it first. Meanwhile, the Brotherhood and Erudito alike are on the lookout for any hints of Juno and her dastardly plans to enslave humanity once more.
The ghost of Lucy still haunts Desmond and Clay seems to be getting a little restless himself.
And to top it all off, Desmond's arm begins to pain him once more.

Ten years had passed and Mai had moved on. She hadn't even given it a second thought when her English editor invited her to London for a few weeks to host a book signing. After years spent writing, blogging, and taking on cases on the side she just really needed a change of pace.
“I’ll take you to your hotel,” he stated coolly.
Mai pursed her lips and shot Madoka a look over his shoulder. The woman had lifted a hand to her mouth and elbowed Lin but neither of them offered her any aid in the situation. They chose to watch on in morbid fascination as the two trains that were Mai and Oliver ran full tilt into each other. Thousands cried out in horror, there was much fire, a death or two, and the recovery costs numbered in the millions.
“You don’t have to do that,” she denied him politely.
“I think I do,” he countered flatly.
One of the train cars exploded.

Summary
Abstergo had been running two hours behind that day, December 21st, 2012, and that has made all the difference. Desmond Miles unexpectedly returns to the land of the living an hour after his death and is suddenly faced with the realization that he will have to deal with Juno after all. Having decided while trapped within the Animus to dedicate himself to the Brotherhood and its creed truly, Desmond concludes that things will need to change if they are to have a chance against the crazed Isu, so he sets out to rebuild.

“I’m beginning to suspect you’re not quite human,” Rebecca muttered over the line, having followed his descent through the camera of the drone. No normal person would have been able to withstand such an impact.
“What was your first clue?” Desmond shot back with a grunt, leaping over an electrical box before tossing himself onto the next roof.
“That time you fit half a burrito in your mouth in one bite,” Rebecca fired back without hesitation.

Something more than just grabbing lunch or dinner, the dark shadows under Leon's eyes still fresh. A month long road-trip to California, stopping at all the cheesy tourist stops — the worlds biggest ball of yarn, a shady dinosaur museum — Leon making bad jokes at each of them, that would nevertheless have her doubled over with laughter. It was a pipe dream, of course. Even if Leon miraculously got enough leave it make it possible, her father would lock her up in the White House before ever letting her go. But even just a day at the beach. They could rent surfboards and swim in water that was way too cold. And she wouldn't have to worry if he was alive or not. Wouldn't have to worry if he still cared…"

Ashley manages to pull some strings to get Leon enough leave for the two of them to go on a road-trip together for her summer break. But of course nothing can be that easy, as their own demons and outside forces threaten to bring what was supposed to be a much needed break for the both of them to an abrupt end.

He stumbled back into the main room, nearly tripping over a stack of discarded moving boxes. He found his wallet on the kitchen counter next to a pile of junk mail. Tucked inside was a pristine, un-creased RPD ID badge, and pinned on the fridge was a calendar—dog themed, with the current month being a golden retriever.
He looked closer.
September 19th, 1998.
The date hit him like a physical blow. He had five days. Three days before the water supply was contaminated, four days before the “Cannibal Flu” swept through the city. Five days before the city became a slaughterhouse. Five days before the T-Virus turned the people he was supposed to protect into the shambling dead. Five days before the blockades go up.
He looked at his RPD uniform hanging on the closet door, still encased in plastic. It looked like a joke. A Halloween costume for a boy who didn't know what a real monster looked like.
or: 3 idiots are transported back to the place that started it all with 30 years of trauma and 5 days to prevent it.
