Sasha couldn't put a finger on it, but something was unusual about Jon now. Sure, it had been two years, so it was normal for a coffee order to change, but this felt different than that. His posh accent was still the same, as was his hair and old-fashioned clothing choices, but the way he carried himself, the lack of a thick bag of research notes, the fact that he was ordering two coffees instead of one and in the middle of the day instead of at night – it was weird.

Jon was one of the first regulars at the All-Seeing Bean for four years, until one day he stopped coming without any warning. Now he’s back, but something’s a bit different, and the baristas are set on figuring out what it is.

Someone slips something into his drink when he's not looking. The others come back soon enough and whoever did it is scared off, but Jon starts feeling the effects as the night goes on. It takes the others an embarrassingly long time to notice something's wrong."
