Jean was just settling down on his bed with his laptop in his lap, the opening credits of Love Actually rolling, when he heard a knock at his door. He frowned in confusion as he paused the movie and padded over to his door, he was sure everyone had left already, Christmas was in two days after all.
He opened the door and was met by the sight of Jeremy staring up at him with red-rimmed eyes and a pout on his lips, “Wha-”
“My flight got cancelled.” Jeremy interrupted Jean’s question and promptly burst into tears, throwing himself forward, letting his suitcase fall to the floor in favour of wrapping his arms around Jean.

Booker and Quynh are living with the rest of the team but they aren’t aware of their strange arrangement. Quynh ends up revealing it in a fit of rage and it sparks a few important conversations.
“-the hell happened here?” Booker could hear voices arguing, although slightly muffled by the blood rushing in his ears, “Stop yelling!”
“She fucking killed him!” Nicky sounded angry for some reason.
“Quynh you need to breathe, please darling, we’re not mad at you.” Andy just sounded sad.
“You should be mad.”
And nope. Booker's heart may be pounding painfully hard in his chest but he wouldn't let Quynh spiral like this. It wasn’t her fault she became violent, “Quynh,” he said, voice rough and he broke off in another wet cough, blood splattering his jeans, “come here.”

Summary
There was the sound of a door opening and Andy heard several gasps echo in the room. She pulled away from the embrace she had longed for, for so long, and took a step towards the door and felt her heart drop. Right there, on the ground, was Booker. His hair was long and his clothes stained in blood and dirt but what stood out the most was the metal collar around his neck which had him chained to the wall.
“Please.” his voice was raspy, as if he’d been screaming, or not have spoken at all for too long.

“You ungrateful brat.” White No-Face hisses and tightens his grip, “If it weren’t for me you would have been long dead, you never would have been able to ascend with the filthy things you did as a mortal.” Mu Qing wishes he couldn’t hear what he’s saying, but he supposes one can never escape the truth, “But maybe I should have expected it, loyalty has never been something you possessed.”

“Are you in danger?” again, nothing but panting breaths are heard in response, “Booker? Are you hurt?”
“No. I’m fine.” Booker manages eventually, “Just-” he curses again, “Nightmare. You were hurt. I needed-” he trails off.
“Needed to make sure we were okay.” Nicky concludes, some of the heat in his veins cooling down slightly, “We’re okay.” he assures softly but it doesn’t seem to calm Booker down any.

It didn’t surprise Ten when he got assigned to the new mutant being brought onto the facilities but the lack of information the higher ups are willing to give him sure did. He is going in completely empty handed but he is determined to help him.

Peter’s hometown is completely and utterly boring. The nearest big city is a three hour drive away and Peter doesn’t even want to classify his town as a town, it’s more of a village really. The one interesting thing about it though, is the man who lives a few blocks away from the school. He had shown up out of nowhere twenty years ago, his mother had told him, and he was a mystery. The adults said he hadn’t aged in since he came and at first people had been scared of him but they realised quickly enough that he was no danger to anyone.

Booker hates his friends. More specifically, he hates that he let them talk him into this. Why is he even friends with them in the first place? They’re all manipulative bastards who know exactly how to use his intoxicated state to their advantage. He doesn’t care if they’re “doing it for his own good” or that “Booker, I love you but you have been single since freshman year and this is just becoming sad”.
He looks down at his phone again and he feels like he’s going to throw up.
