Princess Diaries AU
Andy and Emily’s paths briefly crossed their freshman year in college, before Andy knew she was a princess. They had a class together and had been partnered together. Andy had been quite enamored by Emily Charlton; they became friends, and Andy had a crush. A week after the end of Andy's first semester in college, she finds out that she's the Crown Princess of Genovia, and her entire life changes in an instant. Now, 7 almost 8 years later, Andy is allowed to select a media outlet to cover her first and last exclusive interview as Crown Princess before her coronation later in the year. Whoever she chooses will also get an exclusive interview once she's Queen of Genovia.
Andy finds out that Emily works at Runway as Miranda Priestley's first assistant, and so she chooses Runway as the magazine for her exclusive. There are just a few details that Runway and Miranda have to agree to before Andy gives them their interview and photoshoot. One of those details being that Emily becomes her assistant for her two week stay in New York.

Suddenly Andy's entire being felt like a live wire; raw and delicate and dangerous. The sparks that danced across her skin felt like lightening strikes down her spine, and when she looked at Miranda the wanting in her eyes was enough to drown in.
"On your knees"
Miranda's voice was huskier than before, rougher, hungrier. She crossed her arms as she waited expectantly, like she knew without a single doubt that Andy would follow her instructions to the ends of the earth if only to jump off into the abyss.
Swallowing thick in her throat, Andy dropped to her knees, the hard marble flooring borderline painful underneath her shins as she shifted her weight in an attempt to be more comfortable.
It dawned on her that the point of this position wasn't to be comfortable; it was to think about her place.
To think about how Miranda was showing her where she belonged.
