After becoming mated with each other in an act of dual cultivation the twin jades/dark twin jades are summoned to investigate the disappearance of several cultivators. Together they must work with the Yiling Patriarch and his fiance Jiang Cheng in order to investigate a mysterious village inhabited by two Priests.
Previous emotions between Wangji, Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and even Xichen surface, and together the four will either fail or succeed.

Summary
