    Tim was managing, though! He always seemed to snap back into reality by the time someone needed him, always managed to put on the right voice for the job in seconds. He was really proud of himself. Drake, his new job as Robin, and his newfound love for detective work. Obsession, at times. At times, it went away at random moments but he was allowed to have wandering interests!

    Putting on the robin costume was like slipping on an entire new identity, voice becoming steady and mind becoming sharp. Taking it off felt like shucking off heavy skin and feeling accomplished but shaky.

    He didn't realize it was such a big deal, though, not until Dick had commented on it.

    Or: A take on Timothy Drake as a system, with moments scattered across a really vague timeline.

    Simon wakes up. He hadn't thought he would wake up after his lungs were filled with blood. And yet, here he is, in a pitch-black room, wounds tended to, listening to the most beautiful song he's ever heard.
    He's in a world where the stars are alive, and he's been rescued from his blood-soaked iron coffin by a strange, clever little rock-spider alien trying to save the stars. Of course he'll help. Too bad neither of them are biologists...
    But the new human ship approaching them might have someone aboard who is... if they don't turn Simon into a lab rat first, anyway.

    Disaster strikes the Hail Mary on its way back to Earth. The taumoeba escape their breeding tanks, and make it to the fuel lines. Stranded in space just outside the Tau Ceti system, Dr Ryland Grace can't do anything. He can't go save Rocky, he can't go save Earth. Exhausted, out of options, and distraught, he fills the ship with nitrogen, and takes his final breath.
    Next thing he knows, his eyes flutter open in his San Francisco apartment. It's a year before ArcLight touches down on Earth, but he remembers the Petrova Task Force.
    He's not the only one.
