Kim Dokja is, as usual, a little slow when it comes to emotions. It’s almost like he has an immovable wall that effectively separates his brain from his heart.
He’s quite fond of stories, and ironically enough, his little (read: one year long) tango around the bush with a specific sunfish fits rather nicely within the five components of the common narrative arc: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution.
It goes like this:
Kim Dokja is a reader (derogatory) and Yoo Joonghyuk is a man of extremely strange tastes (derogatory). It works. Somehow.

He keeps wanting to raise a hand and bury his fingers in it and startles every time his fingers brush against the bare skin of his neck but if Ryoji feels raw and exposed in his yukata then Makoto in one is a revelation. The long line of his throat, the vulnerable skin of his wrists—all these small deceptive parts adding into a tantalizing whole, like Ryoji is seeing Makoto for the first time or at least a different version of him.
