Summary
In the spring of 1944, the 104th Medical Battalion of the United States Army is disbanded, and its men reassigned to various infantry companies in preparation for their invasion of occupied France. For First Lieutenant Novak, this is less than helpful, as he has so far met his platoon’s designated medic a grand total of twice, and has both times found Sergeant Winchester to be the optimum combination of reckless, arrogant, and downright insufferable so as to make cohesive platoon function near impossible. When the time comes to move out, however, Castiel has to reconcile himself to the fact that men are going to go down and trust that Dean Winchester may well be the only person who can put them back together again. I couldn't believe it until a 'friend' of mine got dragged into one, hence the inspiration for this story)
He already has one person in mind, his reclusive friend Lena, who seems adamant to stay single forever after a messy split with her ex. And after a lot of convincing from her sister, Kara agrees to participate in the shoot as well. Neither Lena nor Kara expect anything to come of it. It's just a photo shoot, after all. But perhaps James is just as good a matchmaker as he is a photographer...

She knocked on the door to the lab, opening it slowly when she heard Lena say “Come in.”
As she stepped inside the door, however, she knew that she had made a HORRIBLE mistake.
“KRYPTONIAN DNA DETECTED. RED PROTOCOL ACTIVATED.”
Before Kara had a chance to move, the room began to glow a sickening shade of green, and an Nth Metal Door came crashing down behind her.
She was trapped. It was only then that Lena spoke. Her words cold and chilling.
