Just because they love each other, doesn’t mean that’s enough after everything they’ve been through, everything they’ve done. This could be the moment they decide to hang it up, to walk away and move on from each other, instead of constantly living in each other’s ebb and flow.
But Dean’s not willing to live on scraps of Seth’s love, not when he knows what it’s like to have it all. A year ago, they’d been happy, truly happy, for the first time. Dean knows they can never go back to that--he should have realized when he was in it that it was the best time of his life. Now, they can either build back up, or leave everything in ashes.
