Summary
There's a boy in Arkham. Just a child -he can't be older than sixteen.
He's small, especially for his age.
And the overwhelming amount of restraints makes him look even smaller.
But the way he almost never seems to be there, paired with his distaste of the other Arkham prisoners make it clear he isn't like them. At least not in the casual sense.And in all honesty, they don't quite like him. He's unnerving, cold, and mentally challenging to stand in a room with. And the way his eyes never seemed to leave you even in a crowded space could make grown men shiver.
Correction, do make grown men shiver.Even with all that, Batman's not entirely sure as to why he's here.

He moved slowly through the dark hall as the alarms blared and flashed, his eyes cutting through the dark.
Where. Where did he go?
He pauses at a sound, glancing down the left hall as a masked group crouches and goes still. Not paying them any mind, he pays more attention to the blue smoke that finds its way out his throat, curling around his face before trailing off down the hall.
He starts walking again. He has someone to find. With barely a thought he slowly fades from the visible spectrum as he continues down the straight hall.

You honestly didn't know what to think of the strange man who lived two doors down from you. He had two accents, though sometimes you swore you remembered an utterly different third one. He never started conversation, but had winked at you once when he got to the elevator before you and it closed before you could get a foot in.
That was frustrating since he could've held the door. But then again, sometimes he also held the door for you instead. Sometimes he even seemed to be entirely in his own world and didn't see you at all.
But the one thing you were content with ignoring was how he seemed to always expect you. No matter the accent, the mood, or the day. In one way or another, he seemed to breathe some sigh of relief at seeing you at some point in the day.

The observants have made it seem like it was a huge deal, while Clockwork had only given him a small smile and shrug paired with a look that clearly meant he knew more than he was willing to tell.
Speaking of Clockwork, he'd also gotten him a present. I small metal box that seemed to be a moveable puzzle. It didn't look all that hard... a little twist here, and a few buttons pressed there...

The title's a play on words of "Everything's Coming Up Roses", which means things are going well. Except, make it opposite cause Phantom.
Getting summoned to a civil war between major superheroes isn't as cool as it sounds. Getting summonded by someone who shouldn't even be able to summon you, into a place where they're fighting over a law that could get you into some very hot water, is even worse.
Did Danny mention how much he doesn't like hot water already? No? He doesn't like hot water.

Being the child of the pro hero Eraserhead should be hard, and it is, but it's infinitely easier when he doesn't know you exist.
It's not like he met a woman one day and that woman had a child. He never actually met your mom really. She had an odd quirk, which gave her the ability to take DNA through touch and change it up. She could do a number of things with it, she could become the person for a few days, or even do other things.
She's weird, that's one thing you know for certain. Instead of doing something villain-like or even hero-like, she had decided to make your cursed existence after encountering the hero during a crisis.
It only makes sense that your crisis of a life was born from a crisis.
Unfortunately for you, that meant being born from this strong-quirked woman, with the blood of Eraserhead in your veins and a horribly overpowered quirk that honestly probably should've never existed; even if your parents had met naturally.
