Amortentia, the strongest love potion in the world.
It is said that children conceived under the effects of Amortentia are unable to feel love, but what wasn't known was that the degree of which it affected the child conceived depended on the amount of Amortentia administered over a given period of time to the party involved.
It was a little known fact that one James Potter started dousing his love with Amortentia when he was so sure that his love would never bear fruit, having been rebuffed time and time again.
It was an even less known fact that one Lily Evans started dousing James Potter with Amortentia before he even knew she existed.
Even when the two joined in marriage, and produced a child, they never stopped administering the deadly love potion to their partner up until the very end.
Harry J. Potter was the result of their shared infatuation, and his capacity for love was much, much lower than usual. So low, in fact, that when he started developing a little obsession of his own, he swore to obtain it at any cost...

Summary
Harry Potter is the Master of Death, and thus, immortal. Every couple thousand years, he'll let himself reincarnate into a new dimension. This dimension is quite similar to his first one, except he has a twin brother, and the Voldemort in this world is willing to give up everything he's worked for, as long as Harry teaches him magic.

Summary
Tom Riddle takes one look at hoping-to-adopt Harry Potter, who is best described as divine, and decides that he must have him. He's determined to manipulate, lie, and cheat to get what he wants out of the man -- but, as it turns out, Harry is nothing like the weak minded fool he was once assumed to be.
Harry Potter takes one look at childish, fumbling, determined-to-one-day-be-defeated Tom Riddle, and thinks that being tossed into the past didn't have to be a total waste. He observes Tom's weak attempts at manipulation, and thinks he can do him one better.
With a little prodding, who's to say Harry can't help create a Voldemort that the world will TRULY fear?
Harry involves himself in schemes so grand Tom can only guess at their meaning; Harry tries desperately to revive the wraith named Death that was once his lover; Tom attempts to survive in a household with a man who is both an angel and a demon, and too many house elves to count.

"My Dark Lord-" Harry stopped as he noticed the proximity between him and Tom.
"Who the fuck is your Dark Lord?"
Harry's eyes glimmered slyly as his fingers traced Tom's jaw. His lips were undoubtedly close to Tom's own as he hissed in parseltongue, "Lord Voldemort, of course."

Everyone and their mother knew Crime Alley sat on a razor's edge- only one slight imbalance away from toppling over, just the barest of embers away from fully igniting. The Bats felt for the residents there- worried for them and helped where they could- but full involvement was too dangerous. (Red Hood didn't give three shits about danger. Crime Alley was his home and if he had to burn it to the ground to make it better he would- and Bats be damned: he did)
Every member of the Justice League knew that The Founders Community was on the verge of another civil war- coexisting never seemed to be in their vocabulary. The situation was monitored of course, but no one wanted to be the one to pull the trigger on one of the largest meta communities in the nation. Fanning the fire would only invite death. (Hadriyan 'Rin' Black had been friends with death since she was an infant, she didn't give three shits about inviting the bastard over for tea. Death was already at home in the Founding, and if she had to lead a civil war to get the rest of the world to see it she would. In doing so, she saved hundreds- if not thousands- of lives)
Now: if only Hermione could get the two red-clad idiots to realize they're in love.
