At least, he didn’t until he heard a voice that wasn’t his and realized they were in the middle of a fight and he was moving. Ah, so this must be who he was supposed to protect, this… Ling.

The time travel was weird. It felt like something that should be impossible, but neither Ling nor Greed knew much about alchemy, so who was to say? Still, waking up alone in Dublith years before the promised day certainly wasn’t what they expected when they went to sleep the night before.

Summary
Wrath realizes exactly how useful Father's children will become once he gets what he wants. At the same time, he also realizes he has people he's ended up caring about. Bradley was taught all about battle tactics and strategy during his training. One path leads to certain death, the other to nearly certain death.
Going against his Father won't be easy, and he doesn't have much time left, but he has to take any chance at survival he can. -

Summary

Having been trapped in a dark corner of Ling's mind for the past year, Greed gains his freedom and is immediately thrown into conflict. Unsure of who he can trust and convinced Ling had something to do with his imprisonment, Greed struggles to work against his own inner turmoil and find a path forward. -

Summary
Ling probably shouldn't feel so safe with the thing that took over his body, given how it keeps calling him its possession, talks about things it shouldn't know, and, oh, told everyone that he was dead while he was unconscious. He just... feels like he should, for some reason. If the two of them actually talked about it, maybe he'd be able to figure it out.
Greed would have preferred it if his third(?) chance at life had just picked up where his second left off, but this works, too. Sort of. He might be making things a lot worse for himself, actually, but let's not think about that.
Lan Fan's prince has been taken from her, swallowed up by one of the monsters they were trying to capture. Accompanied by a woman who claims to have lost her own friend to the monster, she swears revenge. It would be a nice sentiment if anyone actually needed to be avenged, but as it is, it's just causing more problems.

Summary
When Greed sees something that interests him, he takes it. That's just how it is. There's no ulterior motives of sympathy or anything like that—in fact, he barely thinks it through. Really.
Or, Greed sees a sad broken boy on the streets and takes him into the Devil's Nest...accidentally adopting a young and orphaned Roy Mustang in the process.

The best way to handle this sort of thing is with clear, effective communication.

It's not that bad. It really isn't. The consequences are very cute.Or the AU where Azula turns back into a child and our heroes are bested by an almighty 4-year-old.
Extreme domestic fluff ensues. But also a bit of trauma to spice it up (it's the fire nation, of course it's spicy).
