Summary
She can't actually pinpoint the day she realizes what kind of people her parents are. Mother is a killer (semi-retired) and Father's a politician (as corrupt as they come). But as for Livia Lash— well, she's basically a princess.
Or: Enver and Vermillia from the perspective of their daughter and heir.

Summary
She broke the seal and pulled out what was inside. First was an official invitation, written in fancy script on cream-colored paper with gold embossing. The usual formal stuff: “His Grace, Archduke Enver Gortash, has the honor of inviting…” then the date, time, and venue of a coronation reception. There was also a personal note, written in bold, sweeping handwriting:
My dear friend,
I hope to see you at the reception. I’m assuming you don’t have a gown suitable for such an occasion, so I took the liberty of taking care of that for you. Please accept this modest gift as a token of old friendship.
---
Gortash invites his old friend to the reception celebrating his coronation. Maeve’s companions are certain it’s a trap, but for her, stripped of her memories, the evening is a rare chance to glimpse her own past and discover what the Archduke of Baldur’s Gate truly wants.

Summary
You’d known something was wrong not long into the adventure.
Despite the Urge that clawed at your thoughts and appeared in your dreams, your own body had begun to concern you beyond anything your mind could procure. Such fears had been confirmed on the second month of the journey when your moonblood still hadn't come. Halsin later confirmed you were carrying a child, though no one had any idea where it might have come from.
Perhaps the mysterious Archduke can shed some light on the subject.

Summary
“Come here, let me see you,” Gortash says. His hands, bare of their protective gold carapaces, gently prod at the blood-stained gashes in the Dark Urge’s robes. “Hells, she did a number on you. My poor monster…”
Or: the Dark Urge rolls a 20 on his Insight check when Orin tries to kill him, but doesn't escape unscathed and limps back to Gortash to lick his wounds.

Summary
Obisidan eyes brimmed with unwavering conviction, Gortash’s confidence becoming the Dark Urge’s.
“Hand in hand, we’ll reach heights unachievable.”
The Tyrant’s voice was dogmatic, as if no truer words had ever been spoken. The Dark Urge felt something within him shift at the overwhelming display. At that moment, he knew he would do everything within his cursed body to put the world in Enver’s gilded hands.
In the throne room where only they occupied, the Dark Urge made a vow.
“Any who oppose your rule, I will sacrifice on Bhaal’s altar. Any who doubt your rule, I will bring death to their door. Any who bow at your rule, I will make them bow lower. This, I swear to you.”

Summary
They didn't send a Bhaalist, Gortash realized, blankly. They sent a Bhaalspawn.
There had been rumors, of course; there were always rumors. None from anyone he'd consider remotely trustworthy, though, given that few could have knowingly laid eyes on one and survived to gossip.
What other explanation could there be? This thing, this beast devouring its prey mere feet away from him—there was no semblance of rational thought in the way its eyes burned in hunger and feral delight. Gortash gripped his small knife harder, and wished he'd brought something with a little more punch to it. He couldn't just stand here all night, however, plastered against the wall, hoping he'd somehow escape the creature's notice. Surely it was an optimistic sign that he still drew breath?

Summary
It was then he realized what was looming above him: the face of a giant lizard-like creature, its armoured, snowy white scales offset by a blood red underbelly. Fleshy whiskers emerged from its snout and chin, and four elegantly curved horns protruded from the back of its head. Enver registered two clawed hands now resting on either side of his chest, its bright red eyes studying him like a predator would its next meal. He shuddered, perhaps not only because of the chill still clinging to his body. It opened its mouth, and Gortash felt a panic shoot through his body only to be surprised as comprehensible language hissed out.
“Sailor… Who are you?”

Or, Enver Gortash goes hunting for a leviathan off the Sword Coast for some quick cash. He ends up shipwrecked and saved by the very creature he was hunting, and ends up getting a lot more than he originally bargained for when the creature insists on stuffing him full of its eggs.

Summary
Zyanya sees his dark hair in the pale moonlight, his deep eyes blacker than black. She lowers the knife. “I told Sceleritas not to tell you.”
“He didn’t, the fucking imp.”
“Then how did you find me?”
Enver draws a cocky half smile across his face. “Because I know you, my dear.”

Enver broaches the subject of legacy with The Dark Urge.

“You’ve never wondered,” he murmured, “what something made of us would look like? What they could do?”
Her fingers curled in the fabric of his coat before she realised she’d caught hold of him. She squeezed, hard enough to bruise.
“If you don’t stop talking,” she said, very calmly, “I’m going to throw you off this balcony.”
He huffed a quiet laugh. “You won’t.”

The Slayer appears outside the door to Gortash’s chamber past midnight, causing enough ruckus with his banite guards to wake the tired Chosen of Bane. Even if the lack of sleep was getting to him, Gortash allowed the monstrosity to come in.
He takes full advantage of the unexpected visit, studying the Dark Urge’s monstrous form closely and babbling on about his achievements around his Steel Watcher project far into the night.

Summary
He closed his eyes and took in Ciel’s scent, tainted by fear. He listened intently to the boy’s gasping words, a pleased purr in his gut as he took the rosary and wrapped it around his hand, the Lord’s cross flat in his palm. “Confess,” he whispered. “And count the strikes of your penance.”
“How… how many?” Ciel asked, quietly.
“However many I deem necessary."

Summary
“Confess, darling boy. It will relieve you.”
If Ciel is bothered by the diminutive, he doesn’t say. His next words are slow and overly-thoughtful, a hammed up performance if Sebastian does say so. His master is capable of great acting-- he’s making a show of it to get a rise out of Sebastian and the demon knows it. Even so, he can’t help but react to his master’s helpless voice. “…I have been having these thoughts, recently…”
Sebastian shudders, lips curling into a grin. Ah, so that is the game his master has decided to play. Anticipation bubbles up inside Sebastian, and he moves one hand to rest loosely over his groin. “Is that so? Go on. What kind of thoughts?”
Again, his little lord puts on an overly-affected stutter to his voice. “There’s this professor…”

Summary
“Really?” McMillan frowns. “I feel like I’ve smelled that scent before. Are you sure it’s not a cologne?”
“I’m certain.”
“Oh. I guess I was mistaken. It just really smells so familiar…” He shrugs and turns to a new topic of conversation with the boy across from them.
Ciel tunes them out, fuming. If others are noticing, then it’s getting out of hand. Sebastian’s little habit, that is. Out of everything that the demon puts him through, this is most certainly the most obnoxious, the constant scenting.
