“And then I fell in love,” Athos continues, “With a woman,” he adds hastily, as if it is important to clarify. “It went about as badly as it is possible for such things to go.”
“She died?” Aramis asks, carefully.
“She no longer lives,” Athos replies after a while, as though choosing his words carefully. He sighs again, huge and tired. “I confess I did not think I was capable of love any longer. This- ” he waves his hand vaguely between himself and Aramis in a way that seems to convey some measure of annoyance “- Has been most surprising.”
Athos shifts as though uncomfortable suddenly, “Not least because you are…well, a man.” He clears his throat. “As am I.”
Aramis cannot help the small smile that sneaks across his face. He schools it, nods seriously. “Yes. I had noticed that too.”

Summary
It’s 1920, and ex-soldiers Porthos, Athos and Aramis have gone to work as gardeners on the big Cornish estate owned by their old Major-General, Treville.
In the shadow of WW1 they attempt to turn to the business of growing instead of killing, of nurturing and tending instead of fighting. But their experiences at war and the loss of d’Artagnan is quite literally haunting them, and the past refuses to stay as buried as they would like.
The third and final in my Musketeers-ex-soldiers-turned-gardeners AU.
Title from the poem ‘Everyone Sang’, by Siegfried Sassoon (who might just make a cameo in future chapters…)

Summary
There is nothing for it: there is a dangerous criminal at large in Le Havre and Constance Bonacieux is the only one who can point him out to the Musketeers. But first she has to dig out that old doublet and breeches that lay in a trunk in her spare room.
In which Constance decides that being Michel opens a whole world of possibilities - a world in which Aramis is more than happy to be her guide.
Started off as porn-without-plot until I realised that the porn would be so much more delicious if it had a bit of the angst that the plot afforded it. (If you’re impatient, the smut begins in chapter two!)

Summary
Alternate timeline: By the end of the war with Spain, Porthos is Captain of the Musketeers. Aramis declined to leave the monastery, and Athos and d'Artagnan went missing almost a year previously, and are both presumed dead.
During a routine visit to a surrendered fortress after the ceasefire, Porthos suddenly discovers that Athos is actually still alive. Tortured and imprisoned in horrendous conditions, he's in a bad way and no longer remembers who he is. Porthos is determined to nurse Athos back to health even if his memories never return - but what Porthos doesn't bargain on, is slowly falling in love.

Written for evilmaniclaugh’s prompt “Athos actually loses his commission for being drunk while on duty.”
When the worst happens, Athos has to face up to his alcoholism if he’s ever going to be in with a chance of winning his commission back - but the regiment too is soon to be in disgrace, and it may be that as a civilian Athos is the only one in a position to protect the Queen. (Set between series 1 and 2).
