Summary
Viktor would never become accustomed to the sheer radiance of the Piltovan sun. Nowhere in Zaun matched its dazzling light, even in places where the chasms were open to the sky. The smog of the factories always prevented that light from piercing the depths of the undercity. The only place the sun’s rays even approached the brilliance of Piltover was at the junction of the bridge that connected the two cities.
Viktor and his siblings were well beyond the bounds of the bridge.

In a universe where Viktor's mother was Silco's sister, Viktor was raised by Silco and Vander in Zaun. When Vi gets a tip from Ekko about a place just waiting to be robbed, Viktor knows it's go with her or let his adopted siblings go alone. When the apartment explodes, he doesn't expect the owner of the apartment to protect him, or take the full fall for the explosion.
Now exiled, Jayce finds a new family in Viktor's. Together, they just might change the world.

Before he can stop himself, he picks up the phone. Every ring seems to last for eternity. Please, he thinks, be there, pick up, don’t be dead, don’t be gone…
“Viktor?”
His heart jumps. Silco’s voice is muffled, sleep-thick, but oh so achingly familiar. He had not realised until now just how much he missed it.
“You do realise it is 2 o’clock in the morning?”
He tries to speak but no words come out. The guilt, perhaps, has stolen them.
“Has something happened?”
“Papa,” he finally whispers. “Papa. Papa.” And then all of a sudden he is bawling his eyes out, horrible, heaving gasps and sobs torn from his throat, wracking his thin frame, and distantly he is embarrassed, but he cannot seem to make himself stop.
Worn down by the crushing weight of (not actually) unrequited love, workplace disputes, past trauma, and the existential dread that comes with being an overachiever in your twenties, Viktor finally breaks. Papa Silco comes to pick up the pieces.
Returning to his childhood home in Zaun for a long-overdue rest, Viktor must reckon with his past, his future, and the terrifying prospect of allowing himself to be loved and cared for.

We can build weapons, yes, but Hextech also has so much potential as a source of energy - for filtration, for electrics, for tools and machines - prosthetics, even, and other aids. Once we stabilise the crystals, Zaun’s infrastructure could be healed in months rather than years!”
A rare, fond smile crosses Silco’s face. “My little idealist,” he says. “The world could never quite stamp the hope out of you, could it?”
It has certainly tried.
Viktor infiltrates Piltover as his father's spy. Then he meets Jayce Talis.
