After the disastrous birthday banquet, Athanasia had left, hiding away until her father's wrath cooled off. She had done so naively, trusting in the foolish notion he would not attempt anything else, with current the foreign dignitaries and international politics were at play. Punishing a daughter/heir was one thing. Harming your own flesh-and-blood while representatives from other countries were present would amount to a political issue.
No one wanted to trade with a mad Emperor. Much less a mad, murderous Emperor that did not spare even his own kin.She was correct in her assumption. Claude had not gone after her.
But her nanny and maids were another story.
Or: Lily's death was the final straw that drove Athanasia to run away permanently.

Astral wasn't like Atem.
Despite his insistent, Yuma found himself mentally composed a list comparing them.
Astral was cool and composed but his stragety lied on defense rather than attack. Atem was willing to hide his ace but never back down from a challenge. That was what Yugi had loved about him.
But he was Yuma now and he found himself slowly, gradually fell for the lost alien too.
Or: Yugi finds himself reincarnated as Yuma and sadly, nothing changes. He still fated to lose the most important thing (person) to him.

Prompt from spookybfi: Ok, so Kirk basically spent, like, the entire series wooing Spock, to no avail because Spock broke his heart and left for Gol. Now that Spock is back, Kirk has given up on him because he doesn't know where he stands any more, and he doesn't want to get hurt again. That's ok though, because after his ZOMGFEELINGSAREOK revelation in sickbay, Spock is more than willing to woo Kirk this time :D The wooing could happen on Valentine's day because... it's Valentine's day!

Summary
After a life-saving mind meld with Spock, Captain Kirk begins to experience vivid dreams of ancient Vulcan, a time of warring clans and primal bonds.
In these dreams, a prince bearing Spock's likeness claims they are destined mates, leaving Kirk haunted by how real everything feels.
When Kirk shares this with Spock, he is told that Vulcans do not dream, deepening the mystery. Unbeknownst to Spock, Kirk is connecting with a remnant of his subconscious left behind from the meld.
As the dreams grow more intense, Kirk finds himself grappling with his own emotions, toward both his trusted first officer and the mysterious Vulcan prince in his dreams.
