"The scales were smoother than Luke expected, less sandpapery. He ran his fingers lightly over the creature’s spine, feeling the larger bumps that made up a spiked crest down its back. A little less than halfway down, his finger carved around two larger stumps, covered in smaller scales and tapering out to a pair of thin membranes. The skin stretched from the bumps was almost as long as his own arm, certainly larger than the creature’s body, and felt like soft, well-worn leather under his fingertips. "
In which Luke makes a new, very scaly friend after he finds himself arrested by the very laboratory he was supposed to be investigating.

“It wasn’t my idea,” Din growls as he rushes to defend himself and gritting his teeth when he is leveled with a judging stare.
The other Mandalorian seems to take the hint, shrugging slightly and propping his temple on his fist, “Kryze knows nobody’s done that since the Gen-2 Integration program started, yeah? Since it turns out outsiders are more inclined to follow if they’re not being hunted and forced into the Mando'Ade via marrying in?”
“She thinks it’ll be good moral,” he says, “Something about showing that I’m willing to follow every tradition, no matter how outdated it could be.”
“Her funeral,” he hums back in agreement, before replacing the book on the shelf and grabbing at the abandoned paperwork.

The Acolytes of the Mustafar Fortress were as weak as they were many. Force-Sensitives from across the galaxy were brought here to be Turned, though few survived long enough to even be considered for Sith training.
The entire fortress stunk with the bitter tang of fear, and yet, buried under the decade of despair, Vader finds traces of the dunes of Tatooine as well as the crisp notes of Nabooian Lillies in a 10-year old runaway Acolyte.
