Summary
It still seemed weird to Miko that you could drive for hours in America and be inside the same region. In the early days of her exchange here, she'd asked about it a lot. "Are we still in Nevada?" "Still Nevada?" "Still Nevada?" and the bleak desert landscape had stretched on and on and on, into the horizon and, apparently, forever.
[Miko and Bulkhead take a trip out to a drive-in theatre for a school project. Miko, at least, has a very educational night.]

Bookmarker's Notes
The betrayal of Optimus saying that he can't condone any human deaths while Miko's standing there after probably one of the most harrowing experiences in her life- shook me. I feel that after the epilogue, her relationships with the bots, Jack and Raf will drastically change. And the ending where she's almost disconnected from everyone and the whole thing is treated like one of her thrill seeking/dumb teenage escapades and not a desperate bid to save Bulkhead and almost dying in the process fucking ticks me off. Like the bots are not handling this well.
Miko and Knockout friendship though. Chef Kiss.

Summary
Rose loves human music. That is why Pearl knows how to play most instruments, much better than the immense majority of humans.
Rose loves Pearl. It is the greatest thing to ever have happened to Pearl, and she hopes she can be fully deserving of it one day.
Rose loves some humans. Pearl doesn't begrudge her that. After all, they're the real story here. She'll still be with Rose when the entertainment is dust in the wind.
So when Rose makes Pearl a little homemade gift, why does it all go so terribly wrong ?
Inspired by the works of Abdulrazak Gurnah. That man understands shyness, shame and those nameless feelings that make you go silent, with something stuck in your throat. And he understands time. From that, you can build a lot of what makes Pearl herself. But then you've got to add the love. And believe me, I've got the love.

Summary
There’s a scramble—gems finding other gems, pairing up happily or looking mildly disappointed. But before Lapis can even pretend to read the board, a soft hand lightly grasps at her shoulder.
It’s Pearl. The pink one, anyway. What was her name again? Eyeball? Tennisball? Ping-pong ball?
“Hi. You’re Lapis, right?” She says, her voice as soft as her touch. There’s a smile on her face, and Lapis is struck with the strongest impulse to ask her what exactly in this situation makes her want to smile. “I’m Volley.”
Ah. Volleyball.
Great. Thanks a lot Garnet.
OR: Lapis begrudgingly signs up for Garnet’s fusion class, makes a friend, feels generally overdramatic, and experiences An Emotion (or two).
