This will either bring them closer together or end very badly indeed.

It was only his third real day in the Temple and Anakin thinks he’s going to freeze to death. He’s never been this cold before in his life. Tatooine is known for being hot. Twin suns will do that. But Coruscant may as well be Hoth, if that’s as cold as it’s rumored. The solution? Try and steal blankets from Obi-Wan, if he can get past a jedi.

Luke was fine. No, really he was. Sure the black spots crowding in on the edges of his vision weren’t ideal, but he was fine. Still standing even. So what if the cargo bay wall of Din’s ship was doing most of the heavy lifting.

Red dirt covered the surface of the planet where the latest joint campaign of the 212th and 501st had been carried out.
Obi-Wan had resigned himself to listening to Anakin complain. Apparently this red dirt fell into the same category as sand, namely that it was coarse and rough and irritating, and it got everywhere.
The worst part was that Obi-Wan entirely agreed.- So time for a shower! With all of the promised hair washing, hugging and hurt/comforty angsting these two seem to get into and we are all here for!

Summary
Darth Vader, the strong arm of the Sith, held loyal to his Order since they took he and his mother from slavery in the deserts of Tatooine. Until he became convinced they killed his wife. He abandoned his Order and disappeared in the chaos of the Clone Wars, presumed dead by all sides.
That young Skywalker is known around town as a widower and homesteader; a Nabooian who emigrated to avoid the trade blockade; a father of overly-energetic twins and warding a Togruta war orphan; a decent mechanic if your farm equipment or maintenance droid is acting up.
Anakin is a paranoid, over-protective hot mess doing his best to raise his weird pack the way Padmé would have wanted. How the hell is he supposed to do that when his kids and not-apprentice make him haul a half-dead Jedi Master home like a lost pet?

Anakin gives himself a day to mourn. One day to cry and scream and curse the universe for being unfair. One day to stop missing Obi-Wan Kenobi.
He spends the next day, which turns into another day, which turns into a week, consoling Ahsoka, helping her pick up the pieces left by her Grandmaster’s death while avoiding his own broken pieces scattered around him.
Anakin doesn’t comm Padmé, not even when his comm is blinking with dozens of messages. He does his best to cut off attachment and be the Jedi that Obi-Wan always wanted him to be.
But Anakin isn’t a Jedi without Obi-Wan. There is no Anakin with him. But Obi-Wan is gone now.
And Anakin is all alone.

As Anakin turns to flee, his sandaled foot catches in the hem of his Ceremonial garb and sends him sprawling across the polished floor of the King’s bedchamber. He grunts in pain as his soft body hits the hard surface, barely resisting the urge to curl into a ball and cry. Despite his best efforts, tears still gather at the corners of his eyes, threatening to fall at any moment. The omega nearly jumps out of his skin when the King’s hand comes to rest gently and inoffensively on his shoulder, his hazel eyes focused intently on Anakin’s beet-red grimace. “Are you hurt, dear one?”

They have made sure to paint him into this larger-than-life hero, a man that lacks all fear. He has taken part in many dangerous missions, flying many daring flights and winning many battles.
And as always, a great hero deserves a great prize.
Slowly, Obi-Wan meets his eyes, smiling politely as he stretches out his hand for a greeting. He wants this to be on his terms.
