“He had to have been taken,” their Firelord said forcefully. “There was no trail. No blood. I can’t- he didn’t even-”
And suddenly the entire room saw the mask beneath. Why the anger was so strong. Their Firelord was in agony, yet had no wounds. Not even a scratch, if the reports were to be believed. Someone had made sure of that.
His face immediately righted itself, becoming harder and colder, his jaw clenching almost painfully. His black hair shined in the violent flames cascading around him from the walls. The long red scar on his left eye looked more grotesque in the light. “Find him. He can’t have gone far, not-” he hesitated, strongly, steeling himself once more and looking sharply at the men and women before him. “Not with that injury.”
But if they were hoping to find Councilman Sokka, Ambassador of the Southern Water Tribe in their search, they were in for a surprise.
He was good at hiding when he didn’t want to be found.

Summary
Sometimes Sokka’s insecurities lead him to do really dumb shit.
He’s terrified of being a bother—he’s not sure why that is, but it’s been dictating his life for as long as he can remember. He doesn’t ask for help, he rarely talks about his problems, and he tries his very hardest to not be a nuisance.
OR —
Sokka gets hurt and doesn’t tell Zuko.

Summary
Zuko adopted Izumi a year into his reign, shutting up his court that had been hounding him for marriage to ‘secure the royal line’. Sokka refused the title of Uncle as a teenager. A few years later, Zuko and Sokka got together, got engaged.
So, Izumi has Uncle Aang, a whole bunch of aunties, and Sokka.
Now, she’s five, and in danger, but Sokka refuses to let a hair on her head be hurt.

Summary
Zuko blinks. Registers. And then he snorts a little. “What, because of my eyes?”
Laughter is bubbling up and bursting out of Sokka before he’s fully even understood what’s happening. He straightens to look at Zuko through eyes squeezed in mirth and slightly filling with tears. Zuko looks surprised but utterly delighted, and no force in the world can stop Sokka from planting a huge wet kiss on his cheek.
“Darling. Zuko. Sunshine. Honey. Oh my spirits,” he says, still laughing. “How long have you been robbing the world of your humour, my love. Snow and sea, I taught you too well.”A simple headcanon about favourite colours.
Sokka and Zuko learn more about each other as they watch the sun rise together. Turns out eyes aren't the reason after all, and maybe they were always sort of meant to be.

‘Standard procedure’ for an earthbender is... wait for it...An elevated metal prison.
Sokka could double over laughing.
Rich people are all monsters, and the Fire Nation is all evil.
Fire Nation nobles are a vigilante justice feasting ground.Sokka and Toph scam the scammers, and cheer Zuko up in the process.
