In a world where heroes hide behind a wall of anonymity, UA University serves as a "Quirk-Specialized Training Academy" secretly raising Japan's next generation of heroes. He picked up the guitar, put the strap over his body, and sat on the stool "I had a lot of fun today, with you. I hope we can play again tomorrow. Because you're my favorite person." He gave a charming smile.
Shouto could feel his heart melting.
Mr. Deku played a few chords and began to sing. "I'd rather be tall, I'd rather be smart. I'd rather be sure you know I care. Wherever you go, whatever you start I'd rather be sure you know I'm there. I'd rather always be a part of whatever you do. I'd rather be me, with you."
He was entranced.
On the TV, Mr. Deku finished playing. He leaned onto his guitar and said into the camera in a sweet and soft voice "I have to say goodbye for now, but it's not forever. I can't wait to see you again." He waved as the camera pulled away, and faded to black.
The credits rolled quickly, as the streaming service popped up saying the next episode was about to start. "What was that?" Shouto asked.
His niece Hanako turned back "Mr. Deku! It's me and Kaychan's favorite show! Mr. Deku is so nice. Kaychan looooves Mr. Deku." She poked her sister. Kaori looked away with a blush "Daddy and Dad put it on before bedtime a lot!"

Shouto ignored him. “You’re his assistant?”
“I prefer strategist,” Midoriya said. He had grabbed a bag from next to the chair. He pulled out a notebook (the inside of the bag looked stuffed full of notebooks, so finding a particular one was a feat). He opened it to a fresh page “Shouto-san can I have your autograph?” He gave Shouto a brilliant smile as his nose and cheeks turned an even cuter shade of red.
Normally Shouto hated doing this kind of stuff. “Of course,” he said. He knocked Bakugou off him and took the notebook and a pen from Midoriya. As he went to sign the notebook he noticed the whiteboard again. “You’re tracking that arsonist?”“Mind your business. Sign his shit and get out!” Bakugou barked.

Summary
Shouto barely has any experience with friends, so having a crush on his best friend was not something he was prepared for. He's fallen hard, and he’s awkward and unsure what to make of his feelings, or how to act on them. It doesn’t help that he and Izuku seem caught on the delicate line between friends and romance, and Shouto more than anything doesn’t want to ruin their friendship.
