Summary
Although many breakthroughs have been made on account of the rights of hybrids, they are still legally considered to be a sub-human species incapable of independent living. When a hybrid is found to be a victim of abuse or neglect, they become a ward of the state and are sent to long term shelters to stay until they either find a new owner or enter the foster program for hybrids.
This is a collection of drabbles/one-shots based on this premise.

Summary
Shouta wakes with a jolt at the sound of his cell phone buzzing away on his bedside table. He rubs his eyes to see the screen better after snatching it to bring it closer to his face, squinting in the low light.
It’s a number he doesn’t recognize. Probably hero work, then. He slides his thumb across the screen, sitting up in bed as he presses the phone to his ear.
“What.”
“... is– is this Aizawa?”
Shouta’s heart just about stops as an icy sensation cascades down his spine. Eyes wide and muscles tensed, he’s suddenly very awake.
“Todoroki?”
Or: Aizawa gets a call in the middle of the night from the student he’d least expect.

“You got it handled?” Icyhot says, out of breath. “It’s messy out here, we’re a little short-handed, can’t send backup.”
“Yeah.” Another click. Another empty cartridge. “I got it.”

Summary
She sighs, stepping over to lean back against the wall directly across from him in their narrow hallway, sinking down to mimic his pose. He continues to look down so she nudges his foot with her big toe. He doesn’t react so she does it again and this time he clicks his tongue in annoyance, finally peeking up enough to glare at her.
“The fuck do you want?” Katsuki hisses.
“You’re the one sitting outside our room,” she points out.
He goes silent for a bit. “Couldn’t sleep,” he murmurs, looking away.
The days are hard and the nights are harder, but Mitsuki does what she can to be by her son's side as he recovers and moves forward from everything that's happened.
