Dan’s brushing back one of his companion’s curls, it won’t stay behind his ear. “Hey, your plan is nuts,” he says fondly. “The worst thing I’ve fucking heard. And I’ve heard a lot of Phish.”
“I do not know-” eyes flicking over him, “If I may find closure, Daniel. It may simply be…?”
“Finish the sentence.”
“Too much momentum? Overwhelming… history?” Arun’s voice in fragments, smaller, “I’m not sure where to- put it?”
“Hey, hey,” hugging him for real, real fucking hard. They’re sitting awkwardly, and Armand ends up wrapping his legs around his waist. Dan’s mouth into the side of Armand’s hair, “You put it on me.”

After reconstructing the Museum Omnis, Belisarius Cawl is interrupted during a visit by Trazyn the Infinite. And while Cawl undoubtedly hates xenos - as all good citizens of the Imperium do - he'd been meaning to reconnect to this one.
Unbeknownst to Trazyn, there is no way out of the Museum Omnis thanks to the security breaches caused by AsanethAyu. Trazyn is now trapped. He is, however, interested in learning of human leisure activities. Which works out, because Cawl misses his regicide partner, and Trazyn seems interested in gambling.

He was abandoning them and pulling away his resources at a vulnerable time. He reminded himself again and again that this was the will of the Lex - duty above all else. Above himself. Above his feelings. He swallowed down the bitterness rising up and again tasted blood. No, he couldn't keep chasing a dream. He was a fool for allowing himself a glimpse of one. --
