“Be careful,” she heard Venti say from beside her. “The next step is steeper than the others.”
That simple sentence is what made that nagging feeling at the back of her mind finally click for Glory. She knew this voice. Oh, oh, of course she did! It was the one that’s been guiding her for as long as she could remember—though not as ethereal sounding as it normally was—but the tone, cadence, and manner of protective speaking were the exact same.
She hadn’t realized she had stopped on the steps. Venti’s arm was still linked with hers and she heard him gasp in surprise as the motion pulled him back slightly. “Glory? You okay?”
“It’s you,” she said, not elaborating further.
“Huh?” Venti, no, Lord Barbatos replied, obviously confused. “Me?”

Hank had seen a lot of strange weapons over the years working with the DPD, but a cattle prod was a new one and of course, Connor was the one danger-prone enough to be on the receiving end of the attack. What wouldn't have done much damage to a human sends Connor into a seizure, and Hank has no idea what to do.

Hank knows their violent tendencies and plays along with their insults to keep them from finding out Connor is an android. Connor doesn't understand and is hurt by the things Hank says.

Inside the tower, there’s a heap of something on the floor that Jean quickly realises are feathers— wings in fact, large and white.
Frantic, she immediately crouches. As she does so, however, Venti finally stirs. When he next opens his eyes, looking at her, his eyes immediately widen. Then, in a too-small, too-uncertain voice, raspy and shaky, he whispers—
“Gunnhildr?”
Venti gets de-aged after a close call with Decarabian's god remains in Old Mondstadt. Jean (and others) care for him in the aftermath. In the process, Jean walks the same steps and reconnects with her ancestor before her.
This fic was written as part of the Drunk Twink Summer Exchange and updates every two weeks.
